A few reminders for the anxious high performing man

Hello Reader,

If you’re a high performing man, who’s battling anxiety. Who finds himself feeling sensitive to everything around him, the immense pressure you put on yourself to succeed and who carries the weight of expectations of upholding a standard of perfection…

Here’s a few reminders:

💡 You’re doing this to yourself.

The truth is you’re creating your own anxiety, your own pressure and the weight you carry, you’re responsible. Your subconscious is doing this for you to see parts of you that are unacknowledged and unhealed, and so it’s these parts that are trying to get your attention through this emotion. When you take responsibility that it’s yours and not caused by something or someone external, this is where you take your power back, and learn what needs to be addressed within yourself.

💡 Your anxiety is trying to teach you something.

The way most people deal with anxiety is to let it control us by either acting from it, removing it and numbing it. What if we learned to sit with it and process it, by fully feeling it so that it clears from our body? You’ll soon notice once you do this, there is a lesson that is waiting for you that is necessary for your next evolution. I believe every emotion has a lesson behind it, but how many of us actually listen for it, rather than try to get rid of it asap?

💡 A major cause of anxiety for high performing men comes from trying to maintain an image and perception they’ve created in the world.

It’s both tiring and nerve-wracking to try to uphold an image of 'perfection', I know all too well! The cold hard truth is, no one really cares what you do (unless it directly affects them), everyone is just worrying about themselves. Knowing this can bring you back to reality that we are all playing our own game and we only need approval from ourselves, and continue to become better than we were yesterday. You will get to where you want to go, it’s your nature, but worrying about guarding our perception will stop us from making necessary mistakes, sharing our authentic selves, and taking bold risks.

If you’re an anxious high performing man, you’re not alone.

If anxiety is taking you away from enjoying your everyday life, preventing deeper connection with others and you’ve tried everything to fix it, to no avail…
